The simple ideas of pixels in a satellite image; the geometrical field of view (IFOV); mixed pixels; the physical field of view; satellite motion, scanning and sampling; the point spread function; calibration of detectors; re-sampling; data fusion; sub-pixel accuracy; data compression or up-scaling; the study of sub-IFOV size objects; VIIRS (Visible/Infrared Imager and Radiometer Suite); FORMOSAT-2; conclusion.
