程涛博士，于1999年5月毕业于荷兰国际航空测量与地球科学学院，曾经在香港中文大学地理系及地球信息科学联合实验室做博士后研究员，在英国莱彻斯特大学地理系任讲师和香港大学地理系任兼职讲师， 现为香港理工大学土地测量和地理信息学研究员。十多年来，她主要从事地理信息的时空数据建模及其不确定性的理论研究，提出了模糊空间目标的广义模型，并得以在海岸带环境管理、土地利用变化及智能化交通信息系统中加以实际利用。现已在国际一流核心刊物发表论文十多篇，并被广泛引用。其中一篇获国际摄影测量与遥感协会大奖--海拉瓦２０００最佳论文奖，将于２００４国际摄影测量与遥感协会大会颁发。 Dr. Tao Cheng obtained her PhD in GIS from the International Institute for Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC). She was a lecturer in GIS in the university of Leicester, UK, from 2001 - 2002. She is currently a research fellow in Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her research interests span uncertainty in geographic information, spatio-temporal data model, multi-scale modeling and representing of spatial objects, with applications on intelligent transportation and coastal zone monitoring and management. She is the author and co-author of a number of scientific articles. One of her co-authored paper on fuzzy objects has been awarded as ISPRS 200O best paper.
